It's hard to say I love you, not because I don't, because I do, but because, I love you, is such a loose term. So many use it , and they use it so lightly, that to me it's lost the important meaning. And I care for you so much more than a word with no meaning. But I continue to say it because I have yet to find something to describe how I feel for you. The likely truth is, I will never find a word that really expresses how I feel for you, because my desire and hope and caring go way beyond language, so for now, I will continue to say I love you, but know that I mean so much more.
